The first time I served my friends this chicken breast spread with mayonnaise and ketchup, they asked, “What kind of fish is this?” Of course, I started laughing. The truth is, when I first tasted this unique chicken spread, I couldn’t identify all the ingredients either. I just knew it was delicious. Naturally, I liked it so much that I asked for the recipe. Now, we make this chicken spread especially for special occasions to delight our guests.
You can also use this spread for deviled eggs. You can find the recipe here to make it easier for you.
Let’s take a look together and see what it’s all about!
Chicken breast pasta with mayonnaise and ketchup
Boil and cool the chicken breast, then grind it and mix with homemade mayonnaise and ketchup until it turns rosy. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve the spread on toast or salted crackers for a delicious snack.
Medium
Equipment
1 pot
1 bowl
1 wooden spoon
1 hand blender
Ingredients
- 1 boneless chicken breast
- 100 ml ketchup
- salt to taste
- ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- The first step is to boil the chicken breast. We use a pressure cooker for this purpose, as it significantly speeds up the cooking process. Once the cooker begins to release steam (whistle, as I used to call it when I was younger), we let it cook for another 20-30 minutes. If using free-range chicken, we recommend increasing the cooking time to 40-50 minutes.
- In the meantime, we will make a small amount of mayonnaise, approximately 150-200 grams. We will use this recipe, but with the quantities mentioned here.
- After boiling and cooling the chicken breast, we will grind it using a hand blender. Finally, mix the ground chicken with the mayonnaise and add ketchup until the mixture turns a rosy color. Season with salt and pepper to taste. This spread goes very well on toast or salted crackers. We hope you enjoy it. Bon appétit!P.S. If you want to delight your guests with a special dessert, we recommend this orange tart recipe.
