Over the weekend, I made some oven-baked chicken wings, and they turned out absolutely delicious. It definitely helped that the chickens were farm-raised, without chemicals or artificial substances. However, store-bought wings will turn out just as tasty. Their advantage is that they cook much faster compared to meat from naturally raised chickens, which means you’ll satisfy your hunger more quickly 🙂.
As a side dish, we quickly prepared some simple rice. For something more flavorful, we recommend our vegetable rice recipe, which you can find here. These wings also pair wonderfully with mashed potatoes (find the recipe here) or crispy fries.
Let’s get started!

Oven-Baked Chicken Wings

Equipment

Ingredients
1 kg chicken wings
4 cups lager beer
50 g butter min. 80% fat
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
50 ml sunflower oil olive oil works great too
Instructions
- Wash the chicken wings thoroughly under cold water. In a large bowl, mix the wings with oil, salt, and ground black pepper, ensuring they're evenly coated.
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish with butter to prevent sticking and enhance flavor.
- Arrange the wings in the dish and pour in two glasses of water. Bake at medium-low heat for about 30 minutes.
- Pour half a liter (2 cups) of beer over the wings and bake for another 45 minutes, allowing the beer to evaporate and infuse the chicken. Then, add the remaining beer and continue baking for an additional 45–60 minutes, or until the wings turn golden brown.Pro Tip: The cooking time may vary depending on whether you're using store-bought or naturally raised chicken wings. Store-bought wings typically cook faster.
- Once the wings are golden and tender, remove them from the oven. Serve hot with your favorite side dishes like steamed rice, vegetable rice, mashed potatoes, or crispy fries. Enjoy every juicy bite!
