Tiramisu Recipe: A Classic Italian Delight

Equipment

Ingredients
3 eggs
200 g powdered sugar
500 g mascarpone cheese
20 ladyfingers savoiardi
150 ml strong coffee
1 cup blueberries
250 g heavy cream min 20% fat
50 g dark chocolate or bittersweet chocolate
Instructions
Make the Whipped Cream
- In a bowl, pour the heavy cream and begin whisking it vigorously. Gradually add 2-3 tablespoons of sugar while continuing to whip until the sugar is completely dissolved, and the cream forms soft peaks. Set aside.
Prepare the Cream
- Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Whisk the egg whites until they form stiff peaks. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks with the remaining sugar until the sugar dissolves and the mixture becomes smooth. Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the egg yolk mixture. Add the mascarpone cheese and the whipped cream, and continue to mix until smooth and well incorporated.
Assemble the Tiramisu
- Brew a strong cup of unsweetened coffee and allow it to cool. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee, one by one, and arrange them in a baking dish, forming the first layer. Add a layer of the mascarpone cream mixture on top of the ladyfingers, then sprinkle with blueberries. If you have blueberry liqueur, this would be a great addition! Repeat the layers by dipping more ladyfingers in coffee and adding another layer of cream. Top the final layer of cream with finely grated dark chocolate or cocoa powder for an extra touch of flavor.
Chill and Serve
- Cover the dish and refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 3-4 hours (preferably overnight) to allow the flavors to meld together. Serve chilled and enjoy the creamy, coffee-flavored goodness!Enjoy your homemade Tiramisu!
Notes
Tips:
- For an even richer taste, you can add a splash of liqueur like Marsala or coffee liqueur to the coffee.
- If you prefer a lighter version, you can substitute the heavy cream with a lower-fat option.
