This tuna salad with tomatoes is a quick, effortless recipe that anyone can prepare. It’s versatile, healthy, and perfect for any time of day. You can adapt the ingredients to your preferences, using different types of lettuce (like green leaf, iceberg, or Chinese lettuce) and cheese (feta, cheddar, or a soft brined cheese). For the tuna, I recommend using chunk-style tuna in oil rather than shredded or tuna in brine—the flavor is richer and more satisfying.
The key to this salad’s success lies in using the freshest greens and tomatoes you can find. Let’s dive in and make this delightful dish!

Tuna Salad with Tomatoes and Cheese
This vibrant tuna salad combines fresh greens, juicy cherry tomatoes, savory cheese, and hearty tuna for a quick, nutritious meal. Perfect for a light lunch or dinner, it’s customizable and easy to prepare in under 15 minutes. The addition of toasted croutons and a balsamic olive oil dressing makes it irresistibly delicious and satisfying.

Easy
Equipment

1 large bowl

1 kitchen knife

1 spoon

1 empty jar
Ingredients
240 g tuna in olive oil 3–4 cans (80g each)
1 head fresh lettuce your choice of type
400 g cherry tomatoes
1 cup sweet corn
150 g cheese feta, cheddar, or your favorite type
2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
4 tbsp olive oil
6 slices of bread for croutons
Instructions
- Wash the lettuce thoroughly and pat it dry. Tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl. Rinse the cherry tomatoes, quarter them, and add them to the bowl.
- Crumble or cube your cheese of choice, and toss it into the salad. Drain the tuna slightly (you can leave a bit of the oil for flavor) and add it, along with the corn, to the bowl. Gently mix all the ingredients using a large salad spoon.
- Toast the bread slices until golden brown. Once toasted, cut them into small cubes to create croutons. If you have extra time, try these Homemade Buttered Croutons!
- In a small jar or bottle with a lid, mix the balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Shake vigorously until combined. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss everything together. Season with salt to taste.
- Plate the salad, topping each portion with a generous handful of crunchy croutons. For an extra kick, feel free to add some chili peppers or a drizzle of spicy olive oil.Enjoy!
